AuraGlobe: Migraine Atlas — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 September 2026 · Effective: 16 September 2026
This policy explains how the iOS application AuraGlobe: Migraine Atlas ("the app") handles information and treats your privacy.
1. What AuraGlobe: Migraine Atlas is
AuraGlobe: Migraine Atlas is an interactive 3D globe showing approximate, estimated adult migraine prevalence for a fixed, pre-bundled list of cities and countries, together with current weather for the place you select. It is an informational and educational reference tool. It is not a diagnostic tool, it does not provide medical advice, and it does not record, store, or process any health information about you. You cannot enter symptoms, migraine episodes, or any other personal or health data into the app, because the app has no facility to do so.
2. The data involved, in short
We do not collect any data that identifies you personally. We never receive your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or any health information, and the app has no server operated by or on behalf of us.
The app does use one third-party service, RevenueCat, to understand how the app is used in aggregate — for example how many people are using it, how many free trials are active, and overall subscription revenue. RevenueCat receives a limited amount of anonymous, non-personal information tied to a random identifier, not to your name or Apple ID. This is described in full in section 8.
On the App Store privacy information for the app, this corresponds to declaring Purchases — your in-app purchase history — collected for analytics and app functionality, not linked to your identity, and not used to track you.
3. What the app stores on your device
The app saves a small amount of information locally on your device so it can remember your preferences between launches. This stays on your device. It is not transmitted to us, and we cannot see it.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Appearance (dark/light) and temperature unit (°C/°F) | To keep the app looking the way you set it |
| Globe options — idle spin, spin speed, clouds, cloud density, starfield, sun & comet, markers | To keep the globe the way you set it |
| Which places you have opened, and which pairs of places you have compared | To apply the free-tier allowances and to avoid charging you twice for something you have already opened or compared |
| Whether you have seen the introductory hint | So it is not shown repeatedly |
| If you use Sign in with Apple: your Apple user identifier and the given name you chose to share | To display that you are signed in, and to show your name |
This information is removed when you delete the app, or at any time via Settings → Delete account inside the app (see section 9).
4. iCloud sync (optional, off by default)
If you turn on Sync via iCloud in the app's Profile screen, the preferences listed in section 3 — your appearance and unit settings, your globe options, the list of places you have opened, the pairs you have compared, and the given name from Sign in with Apple, if any — are stored in your own iCloud account using Apple's iCloud key-value storage, so they follow you across your Apple devices.
This data resides in your iCloud account under your Apple ID. We have no access to it and cannot read, retrieve, or delete it. Your Apple user identifier is deliberately not synced. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
This feature is off unless you switch it on, and you can switch it off at any time.
5. Sign in with Apple (optional)
Signing in is entirely optional; the app is fully usable without it. If you choose to sign in, Apple provides the app with a user identifier and — only if you permit it — your given name. As stated above, these are stored on your device (and, if you enabled iCloud sync, the given name in your own iCloud). They are never sent to us, and they are never sent to RevenueCat.
Sign in with Apple lets you hide your email address; the app does not request your email address at all. Apple's own handling of the sign-in process is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.
6. Weather data (Apple WeatherKit)
When you open a city or country in the app, the app requests current weather from Apple WeatherKit for that place.
Important: the coordinates sent are those of the place you tapped — a fixed point from a list bundled inside the app, such as the centre of Tokyo. They are not your location. The app has no location permission, never requests one, and has no ability to determine where you are.
Weather requests are made by your device directly to Apple. We do not see them. Apple's processing of WeatherKit requests is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy; attribution information is available at weatherkit.apple.com/legal-attribution.html.
7. Purchases
AuraGlobe: Migraine Atlas offers an optional paid upgrade. All purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using Apple's In-App Purchase system.
- We never receive or have access to your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID credentials.
- Your purchase is verified on your device using Apple's cryptographically signed receipts.
- Restoring purchases is handled by Apple against your Apple ID.
Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy. Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymous sales reports that do not identify individual users. Anonymous information about your purchase is also shared with our analytics provider, RevenueCat, as described in section 8.
8. Analytics and purchase reporting (RevenueCat)
The app includes a software development kit from RevenueCat, Inc. We use it only to see anonymous, aggregate statistics about the app — principally the number of active users, the number of active free trials, and overall subscription revenue. We do not use it to identify you or to contact you.
Our own purchase code, running on your device, completes and verifies every purchase using Apple's system (see section 7). RevenueCat operates in a purchase-observing mode: it reads the purchase transactions that Apple has already completed on your device so it can report them. It does not process your payment and is not required for the app or your purchases to work.
Information sent to RevenueCat for this purpose includes:
- A random, app-generated identifier that RevenueCat assigns to the installation. It is not your name, email, or Apple ID, and we do not provide RevenueCat with any of those.
- Basic technical information about the installation, such as your device model, operating system version, app version, language, and the country or region derived from your network connection.
- Details of your in-app purchases and subscriptions — for example the product purchased, the price and currency, and the purchase, trial, and renewal dates.
What RevenueCat does not receive from us: your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or any health information. This data is used for analytics only. It is not used for advertising, and it is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites, so it does not involve Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
RevenueCat acts as our data processor and stores this information on its servers in the United States. Its handling of the data is governed by the RevenueCat Privacy Policy. If you would like us to help you make a request in respect of the data associated with your installation, contact us at rakukoli65@gmail.com (see also section 13).
9. Retention and deletion
We hold no data that identifies you, so there is nothing personal to you for us to retain or delete on our side. The analytics described in section 8 are anonymous and are retained by RevenueCat under its own policy.
Data held on your device or in your iCloud is under your control:
- Settings → Delete account inside the app erases the locally stored information listed in section 3 and also clears the synced copy from your iCloud.
- Deleting the app removes all of its local data from your device.
- You can manage or remove iCloud data through your device's iCloud settings.
10. What we never do
- We do not collect any information that identifies you personally.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we show no advertising.
- Aside from RevenueCat, used only for the anonymous analytics described in section 8, the app contains no third-party software development kits. We use no advertising, attribution, or cross-app tracking services.
- We do not use cookies or the device advertising identifier (IDFA).
- We do not build profiles of individual users, and we carry out no automated decision-making.
- We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We never have.
11. Links to other services
The app contains links to external websites — for example data-source credits (GeoNames, Solar System Scope, GitHub), Apple's weather attribution page, an Instagram page, and an App Store listing for another app by the same developer. Opening a link leaves AuraGlobe: Migraine Atlas and opens your browser or the relevant app. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and this policy does not apply to them.
12. Children's privacy
AuraGlobe: Migraine Atlas is a general-audience reference app and is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone, and so collects no personal data from children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).
13. Your rights
Privacy laws including the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) give you rights over personal data that a company holds about you — such as access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection.
We hold no data that identifies you, and the analytics we do use are anonymous, so in most cases there is nothing tied to you for us to disclose, correct, export, or erase, and no data for you to opt out of being sold or shared. Any data described in this policy that sits on your own device or in your own iCloud account is already under your direct control (see section 9).
If you wish to exercise a right, contact us at rakukoli65@gmail.com and we will respond within the period required by applicable law, including passing appropriate requests to RevenueCat where relevant. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
14. International users
The app is available worldwide. The anonymous analytics described in section 8 are processed by RevenueCat in the United States. Data you keep in iCloud is stored and transferred by Apple in accordance with Apple's own policies. Aside from these, we carry out no international transfers of personal data, because we hold none.
15. Security
Data stored on your device is protected by iOS and your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. Data stored in your iCloud account is protected by Apple's security measures and your Apple ID credentials. Information sent to RevenueCat is transmitted over an encrypted connection. Because we operate no servers and hold no data ourselves, there is no database of ours that could be breached.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the app changes — for example if a future version adds a feature that handles data differently. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version, and the current policy will always be available at this address. Material changes will be reflected here before or when the relevant app update is released. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
