MigraSense: Migraine Tracker — Last updated: July 11, 2026

1. Data We Collect

MigraSense collects only the data you provide directly within the app, plus — if you turn on the optional weather feature — local weather conditions recorded when you log a migraine (see Section 1e). We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

a) Migraine & Health Data

• Daily migraine logs (date, occurrence, and personal notes)
• Trigger entries (e.g. stress, screen time, weather changes, and custom triggers you define)
• Pain location data (anatomical regions such as forehead, temples, eyes, jaw, etc.)
• Medication records (name, dosage, frequency, effectiveness, and pain quality before/after)
• Reliever records (relief methods used, duration, and effectiveness scores)

b) Appointment Data

• Doctor name, reason for visit, date/time, and reminder preferences
• Local notification identifiers for appointment reminders

c) User Profile

• Display name and email address (provided by you during account setup or Apple Sign-In)

d) Preferences & Settings

• Appearance mode (light, dark, or automatic)
• Language preference
• iCloud sync preference
• App lock and biometric authentication preferences

e) Weather Data (Optional)

• Local weather conditions recorded at the time you log a migraine — temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, pressure trend, and general sky conditions

Weather is stored alongside your migraine logs so you can review weather-related patterns over time. We do not store your GPS coordinates or location history (see Sections 2d and 3).

2. How Your Data Is Stored & Used

a) On-Device Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Your data benefits from iOS's built-in hardware encryption and device-level security protections.

b) iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. Only you can access this data through devices signed into your Apple ID. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in the app's settings, and your data will remain on-device only.

c) Apple Health (HealthKit) (Optional)

With your explicit permission, MigraSense integrates with the Apple Health app on your device. This integration is optional and can be enabled, limited, or revoked at any time in the Apple Health app or iOS Settings.

• Data we write: When you enable Apple Health sync, MigraSense records your logged migraine days to Apple Health as headache events.
• Data we read (read-only): If you separately turn on the optional “Cycle & Sleep Insights” features, MigraSense reads your sleep and/or menstrual cycle data from Apple Health solely to calculate and display correlations with your migraines on your device. Each source is off by default and enabled individually.

This read access is strictly read-only — MigraSense never writes, changes, or deletes your sleep or cycle data. Sleep and cycle data are used only to generate on-device insights; they are not added to your migraine logs, not synced to iCloud, not transmitted off your device, and never sold or shared. Because menstrual and sleep information is sensitive health data, it is processed only on your device and only while these features are enabled. You can revoke any of this access at any time in the Apple Health app or iOS Settings.

d) Location & Weather (Optional)

If weather logging is enabled, MigraSense uses your device location only momentarily to look up local weather — when you log a migraine and, if enabled, once per day to record a baseline reading. Your approximate location is sent to Apple's WeatherKit service to return the current conditions, and Apple's handling of that request is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. MigraSense does not store your GPS coordinates, does not track your location in the background, and does not use location for any purpose other than retrieving weather. Location access is optional and can be turned off at any time in iOS Settings, or by disabling weather logging within the app. Weather data is provided by Apple Weather.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Continuous or background location tracking, or storage of your GPS coordinates or location history (your location is used only momentarily for weather — see Section 2d)
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Browsing history or app usage analytics
• Contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data
• Crash reports or diagnostics sent to third parties
• Any data for advertising or marketing purposes

4. Third-Party Services

MigraSense uses only native Apple frameworks and services:

• Apple StoreKit — to process in-app subscriptions and purchases. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple and is never accessible to us.
• Apple CloudKit — for optional iCloud data sync, encrypted and managed by Apple.
• Apple HealthKit — for optional health data integration (writing migraine events, and optional read-only access to sleep and cycle data), managed by Apple.
• Apple WeatherKit — to retrieve local weather conditions shown alongside your migraine logs. To return weather, your approximate location is sent to Apple. Weather data is provided by Apple Weather.
• Apple Core Location — to determine your location momentarily for the weather lookup above. Managed by Apple; not used for tracking.
• Apple Sign-In — for optional account authentication, managed by Apple.

These are all first-party Apple services. We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs.

5. Biometric Authentication

MigraSense offers an optional app lock feature using Face ID, Touch ID, or Optic ID. Biometric data is processed entirely on your device by Apple's Local Authentication framework. MigraSense never accesses, stores, or transmits your biometric data.

6. PDF Reports

MigraSense allows you to generate PDF reports summarising your migraine history. These reports are created locally on your device and are shared only when you explicitly choose to do so via the iOS share sheet. We do not have access to your exported reports.

7. Subscriptions & Payments

MigraSense offers optional subscription plans (monthly and yearly) for premium features. All payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card, bank account, or any payment information.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data remains on your device (and optionally in your iCloud account) for as long as you use the app. To delete your data:

• Delete the app — removes all locally stored data from your device.
• iCloud data — can be removed via Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage on your device.
• HealthKit data — can be deleted via the Apple Health app.

Since we do not store your data on any external servers, there is no server-side data to delete.

9. Children's Privacy

MigraSense is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us so we can assist with its removal.

10. Security

We rely on Apple's platform-level security to protect your data, including:

• iOS hardware encryption for on-device data
• CloudKit encryption for iCloud-synced data
• App Transport Security (ATS) for all network communications
• Cryptographic transaction verification for in-app purchases
• Optional biometric app lock for additional protection

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
